Children’s Savings Account Task Force Recommendations

Resource Overview

The Illinois Children’s Savings Account Task Force was a diverse group of individuals from the government, nonprofit, and the financial services industry, that recommended and developed a strategic implementation plan for providing a savings account at birth for every Illinois child. Children’s Savings Accounts (CSAs) will increase the number of children who own assets and acquire post-secondary education or training, increase the levels of financial literacy in Illinois and create positive aspirations, a sense of security, and orientation toward and hope for the future. Their recommendations were released in December 2010.
