Comments on Secure Choice Administrative Rules

Resource Overview

Secure Choice, a new automatic retirement savings program in Illinois, is rolling out in 2018. As part of this, the Illinois State Treasurer proposed administrative rules to support the implementation of the program.

We submitted a comment letter about these proposed rules to the Illinois Treasurer’s Office, advocating for a program that is equitable and widely accessible for workers who are low-income, workers of color, women workers, and immigrant workers. In the comments, we urge the Treasurer’s Office to make the eligibility as broad as possible, and to make the program simple, clear, and easy-to-use.
