Measuring and Understanding The Racial Wealth Gap
The disparities in assets and ownership between communities of color and whites are a systemic problem. African-American, Latinos, and other communities of color have been consistently denied access to wealth building opportunities leading to negative consequences for individuals, families, and society. This session from our 2012 Conference defines the racial wealth gap, how it is measured, and how groups across the country are closing the gap. It also examines Illinois credit score data as a startling example of racial wealth inequality.
